Using extraoral vacuum suction machine to prevent infection during COVID-19 pandemic
During treatment, doctors and staff using dentist ultrasonic scalers, 3-way syringe, high and low speed handpieces - generate a large amount of water and mist which combined with bacteria such as saliva, blood and other tissue in the patient's mouth, producing aerosols. The extra-oral suction of the Vector Vortex removes these aerosols to prevent cross-infection between the doctors and the patients. Providing a clear, dry and clean environment.
To complement our infection control process, we have added the Our Extraoral Dental Suction System which removes aerosols and droplets via a high speed suction system, a medical grade HEPA filtration system that removes particles down to 0.3 micron, and a medical grade UV light disinfectant inside the system to kill all viruses and bacteria that are trapped in the filter.

We have always followed strict infection control guidelines along with universal precautions that include continual handwashing before and after we see each patient, consistent wearing of approved personal protective equipment by our doctor and staff, utilization of a hospital grade Midmark M11 autoclave sterilizer that we spore test daily to ensure the complete eradication of spores thus providing proper sterilization of all instruments, and the complete disinfection of all surfaces in each treatment room and our laboratory with Cavicide spray and wipes to ensure proper disinfection and elimination of 99.9% of microbes. We have also been disinfecting all door handles, bathroom surfaces, and the waiting room to ensure the safest environment possible.
Basic principle of extraoral suction
Suction: With strong suction vacuum pressure and high air suction flow rate, the aerosol droplets between the doctor and staff and the patients is sucked into the machine through the adjustable positioning arm, and discharged after thorough purification.
Disinfection: The aerosol entering the machine is filtered through HEPA filter and then sterilized by ultraviolet rays. The air is then discharged after a high charged plasma
sterilization and purification.
